Expansion of UN Live’s Board of Directors
Copenhagen, 15 July 2025 - The Museum for the United Nations – UN Live is delighted to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors. Each brings a wealth of experience across diplomacy, innovation, systems change, and global development. Together, they strengthen UN Live’s mission to harness culture as a driver of empathy, agency, and collective action.

Hala Hanna
Hala Hanna is a global leader in social innovation and inclusive development. As Executive Director of MIT Solve, she oversees a global community that supports tech-based solutions addressing pressing global challenges — from climate and health to education and economic prosperity. Hanna’s career spans leadership roles at the World Economic Forum, World Bank, and several UN agencies, where she worked to centre equity, systems thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. With academic credentials from Harvard University and the American University of Beirut, Hala brings both strategic vision and deep operational expertise to driving impact at scale.
Yoka Brandt
Yoka Brandt is a distinguished leader with decades of experience at the highest levels of international cooperation and development. Yoka most recently served as Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the United Nations in New York, where she championed multilateral dialogue and global collaboration. Prior to this, she held key positions including Secretary-General of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, where she helped shape global policies on children’s rights and humanitarian response. Yoka has also served as the Dutch Ambassador to Uganda and Eritrea.
Lysa John
Lysa John has over 25 years of experience in human rights, international development and social justice, leading large-scale change initiatives and global campaigns for governance accountability. She is the Executive Director of the Atlantic Institute, Oxford and has held senior roles with the United Nations, Save the Children and CIVICUS. Lysa has been an adviser to the Global Partnership for Sustainable Data Development, the Open Government Partnership and the World Benchmarking Alliance. She stays grounded through yoga, meditation and gratitude for a global community of friends, family and fellow activists.
Patrick Frick
Patrick Frick is the Curator and Initiator of Brave Space, a platform dedicated to enabling leaders and communities to learn, grow, and take collective action in service of the common good. With a background in systems thinking and social entrepreneurship, Frick has worked with mission-driven leaders across sectors to design and facilitate collaborative processes for societal transformation. Whether through public dialogues, intimate leadership retreats, or global convenings, Patrick helps unlock the power of courageous conversation in a world increasingly shaped by complexity, fragmentation, and interdependence.
