Museum for the United Nations – UN Live is an independent, borderless museum and an agile extension of the United Nations. We create culture-powered initiatives that connect people with global challenges, values and futures we share.
Embracing mainstream culture, from music, film, gaming and sports to storytelling, digital platforms and shared cultural moments, UN Live makes global challenges human, relevant and actionable for the many, at speed and scale.
In a fragmented and increasingly polarised world, global challenges cannot be solved by policy and technology alone. They also require empathy, agency, public participation and the ability to collaborate across borders.
We bring together convening power, cultural creativity, behavioural insight and global partnerships to develop and scale initiatives that move people from awareness towards action, creating a sense of global belonging—a ‘Global We’. From high-tech portals around the world, Global We connects people across countries, cultures and perspectives through live dialogue and listening, to build empathy and create a sense of global belonging. -

Same Sun
Same Sun brings people in Denmark and African countries into direct conversation, challenging one-dimensional narratives and helping people discover the experiences, interests and hopes they share. -

Sounds Right
The award winning initiative Sounds Right has made NATURE an music artist to recognise the value of nature and raise funds for conservation. When people stream tracks by NATURE, royalties help fund biodiversity conservation and restoration. The initiative turns music listening into participation and a new source of finance for nature. -

Defenders of Planet Earth
Defenders of Planet Earth (DOPE) is a new entertainment concept bringing climate solutions into mainstream culture. Through a light entertainment show, it aims to make climate action feel relevant and hopeful for mass audiences.

Rather than bringing experiences into a museum building, UN Live brings the experiences out into the world, meeting people where they already are: through music, film, gaming, sport, digital platforms and beyond. The Shift Q&A series
Popular culture shifting inner and outer worlds
The stories we tell, the images we circulate and the music we listen to all shape how we see ourselves, one another, and the world. Through TheShift, UN Live brings together artists, thinkers and practitioners to explore how culture—from stadiums to dinner tables—can become stages for more connection, inspired empathy and collective action.
The Shift is part of UN Live’s work to build evidence, share learnings and advance the emerging field of culture-powered impact.
