Sounds Right at Naturmødet

Can music help save nature? We believe it can.

Last week, UN Live's Anna Ebbesen joined Naturmødet in Hirtshals - the People's Festival of Nature gathering around 30.000 people - to share our work with Sounds Right and discuss how popular culture can help make nature conservation a cause for the many.

Too often, nature and culture are seen as opposites. But if we want people to care, we need to bring nature into the spaces where culture already lives – in music, film, and everyday life.

At the Hempel Foundation’s stage, JJ Paulo performed tracks co-created with NATURE and joined UN Live and Anders Holm, CEO of the Hempel Foundation, in a conversation about the bold potential of Sounds Right.

UN Live also took to one of the main stages alongside Michael Magee from the Natural History Museum Denmark, sharing how music can spark a deeper connection to nature – and how young people are already co-creating soundscapes with the natural world.

A heartfelt thank you to the Danish foundations who believed in this unconventional idea and supported our vision of using popular culture to reach broader audiences:
Hempel Foundation, AAGE V. JENSEN NATURFOND, 15. Juni Fonden, William Demant Fonden.

Let’s keep reimagining our relationship with the natural world – and let’s make it resonate.

Who writes the songs? The crisis of imagination – and the opportunity for culture to change our tune.
