SameSun at Smukfest
How do you spark curiosity, understanding, and real connection across continents? You begin where we already have something in common: music. food. sports. life.
That’s exactly what you can experience this August, when Museum for the United Nations - UN Live opens a high-tech portal at Smukfest, one of Denmark’s largest music festivals, as part of the new initiative Same Sun, developed for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark as a collaboration between Democracy x and Museum for the United Nations - UN Live.
In many parts of the world, including Denmark, people rarely encounter stories from the African continent and rarely stories that aren’t about conflict and crisis. This creates a one-sided view of a diverse, dynamic region.Same Sun offers a different approach: creating space for people to meet as equals, share first-hand stories, and add faces, hopes, and dreams to one another. Because the global challenges we face - climate, migration, inequality - are easier to tackle when we know each other better.
