COP 29: Global We Conversations
COP29 is here, and it's time for bold and collaborative action for people and the planet.
The climate crisis is a shared global issue that requires collective action. While our individual experiences are shaped by unique contexts and realities, we must hold empathy at the heart of every action we take to build a sustainable future for all.
UN Live is on-site for the 29th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, ready for a week of learning, speaking, and pushing for the power of popular culture and dialogue in making positive change. Despite the choice of venue, bringing together key climate advocates, challenging boundaries, and collaborating with aligned partners remain essential.
We will be debating the role of storytelling in climate action, language justice, innovative financing, and the Triple Crisis, including examples from UN Live's cultural programmes: Sounds Right and Defenders of Planet Earth.
UN Live's 'Global We' platform invites people worldwide to engage in facilitated conversations that transcend borders, fostering diversity and inclusion as core principles in tackling global challenges. Our focus will be on the power of popular culture and how we can work together to create a sense of global belonging in a world that feels more and more fragmented.
Now more than ever, it is crucial to invest in arts, culture and storytelling to reach the hearts and minds of the many people who can help change the course in a more positive climate direction. As one interconnected global community, bound by shared experiences and the natural world, we are not separate — we are a Global We.
